How to receive money
This example assumes that the account receiving money has already been invited to an existing team. In this example, the user Daniel is linking their debit card to receive money from Kyle, a fellow team member in their fleet named Kyle Trucking. To learn more about team management, please read the Managing your fleet article.
To receive money you must first connect a debit card to your account. You can begin the process by navigating to the Profile tab, selecting the Manage instant transfer account menu, and tapping the Connect your debit card button. You will be prompted to confirm your address and submit a phone number that can receive one-time passcodes. Upon the Next button, you will begin the debit card linking process via our partner, Astra.
Next, verify that your phone number is correct. Once you tap Continue, a one-time passcode will be sent to your phone to verify your number. Then, click the Connect New Debit Card button and enter your debit card details. Be sure to verify that the Card Address is correct and once you are ready, select Submit to finalize your debit card details.
Finally, select Continue to TruckSmarter to finish connecting your debit card. Upon completion, you will see your debit card listed in the Manage instant transfer account menu.
How to send money
This example is from the perspective of the owner of a team named Kyle. In this example, the user Kyle is sending money to Daniel, a fellow team member in their fleet named Kyle Trucking. To learn more about team management, please read the Managing your fleet article.
To begin, navigate to the Factoring tab and select either the Send money or Send to team button. In this example, we have selected Send money. Next, when asked who to send the money to, we can choose either Myself or A team member as the recipient — in this example, we are trying to send money to Daniel so we have selected A team member.
Next, we can select an existing team member or we can Add team members if we want to send money to a TruckSmarter user that has not joined our team. For our example, we have selected an existing team member, Daniel. To send a transfer, you must enter an Amount and a Memo. Once done, tap the Review transfer details button to verify all of the transfer details. Finally, when you are ready to send the transfer, tap the Submit button. The funds should be available to the receiver shortly after.
Cancel a pending transfer
You can cancel a Pending transfer in two scenarios:
- If you have sent a transfer to a user that has connected their debit card, you will have a short amount of time (handful of seconds) to cancel the transfer before it completes.
- If you have sent a transfer to a user that has not connected their debit card, the transfer can be canceled until the recipient connects their debit card. If the user does not connect a debit card within 14 days, the transfer will immediately expire and no money will be transferred.
To cancel a Pending transfer, navigate to the Factoring tab, select the Send money or Send to team member button, and then tap the Activity tab. Once there, select the Pending transfer you wish to cancel. Finally, tap the Cancel transfer button at the bottom to stop the transfer.
Viewing your transfer activity
You can view the status of a transfer by navigating to the Factoring tab, selecting the Send money or Send to team member button, and selecting the Activity tab. A transfer can be in one of the following states:
State | Description |
---|---|
Pending | The transfer is processing. If the recipient has connected their debit card, the transfer will occur immediately. If the recipient has not connected their debit card, they will have to do so within 14 days. |
Success | The transfer has completed successfully, the recipient should see the money soon after. |
Canceled | The transfer was canceled by the sender. |
Expired | The recipient never connected their debit card within 14 days after the transfer was initiated. |
Failed | There was an unexpected issue with the transfer. Either try again later or contact TruckSmarter Support directly through the app. |
Delete your debit card
You can easily delete your debit card by navigating to the Profile tab, selecting the trash can icon, and confirming with the Delete button.
