Dispatch Calling Assistant is your personal assistant that handles the busy work of calling brokers. After Dispatch finds you new load opportunities, or after finding a load in our free load board, activate Calling Assistant to contact brokers, navigate their phone trees, wait on hold, and confirm load availability—so you only spend time on real opportunities while your competition is still waiting for someone to pick up.
Follow these simple steps to use our Calling Assistant anywhere, whether you're on our load board or in the Dispatch section.
Note: this feature is only available for Dispatch users. You can sign up for Dispatch here.
Step 1: Find your load
Find a load that works for you either on our free load board or with Dispatch (recommended).
For more on how to set up a successful search with Dispatch, check out this article: "How to Set Up a Successful Load Search on TS Dispatch."
Step 2: Tap on Call broker
Once you’re on the load details page you want to book, tap Call broker at the bottom of the screen to view contact options, including:
- Call now: Opens your phone so you can dial the broker directly
- Calling Assistant: Initiates Dispatch's Calling Assistant to call the broker and wait on hold for you (recommended)
Step 3: Get them on the line with Dispatch Calling Assistant
Once you select Calling Assistant, Dispatch Calling Assistant calls the broker, navigates the phone tree, and waits on hold until the broker is available.
After reaching the broker, Dispatch verifies that the load is still available and that they can take your call. While Dispatch Calling Assistant makes contact, you're free to continue browsing loads or go about your day.
As the call progresses, you'll see a status banner at the top of your app screen with real-time updates:
- "Call connecting"
- "Call in progress"
These status updates appear in a banner at the top of your screen, even if you navigate away from the load details page.
Tip: If you need to review the call details while waiting, tap Details on the right side of the status banner. You can also cancel the call from this screen.
Step 4: Connect to the Broker
Once Dispatch confirms the load is available and the broker is ready, you'll receive a call connecting you directly. Answer the call to speak with the broker, then greet them and state your reason for calling.
Pro Tip: Have your preferred rate, truck specifications, and availability ready before starting the call so you're prepared when the broker picks up.
And that's it! No waiting on hold or chasing unavailable loads—just time saved and calls that count.
Troubleshooting
What if the call doesn't connect?
If you receive an error message or the call fails, you can view the call history and reason for failure:
- From the status banner, tap Details to see the call outcome
- From the Dispatch home screen, check your recent load search history
- On the load details page, review the history of all call attempts to that specific broker
What if I miss the incoming call?
If you don't answer when Dispatch connects you to the broker, the call will end. You can try again by selecting Get them on the line from the load details page.
