How to Verify your Carrier Identity

Start using all the tools on TruckSmarter by verifying your carrier identity.

To view, bid, and book on all loads, TruckSmarter requires that you verify your carrier identity. This can be done in two different ways that are outlined below:

Verify by uploading your documents

You can verify your carrier identity by uploading the following documents:

Start by tapping the My Account button in the Home tab listed under settings. Next, select the option to Verify My Carrier Identity, then tap on your Carrier MC / DOT.

You will be prompted with two options: Connect a Broker Account or Upload Authority Documents. Select Upload Authority Documents to get started.

You can upload your documents by taking a photo or by selecting the document from your device. Please make sure that your document adheres to our document guidelines:

  • Ensure documents are readable

    • They should be scanned in a well-lit space and on a flat surface

  • Include all four corners

    • Unfold any curved edges

  • Avoid background objects

    • No fingers please

After uploading your documents, scroll to the bottom and tap the Confirm button.

Once your documents have been confirmed, your carrier identity status will update to Pending. If you wish to verify faster, you can connect a broker account.

Verify by connecting a broker account

You can verify your carrier identity instantly by connecting a broker account. Detailed steps for this process can be found in the Connecting broker accounts article.

Verification status

If you have submitted documents for verification, your carrier identity can be in one of the five states listed below:

Status

Description

Unverified

You have not begun the verification process. You will be unable to view, bid, and book on all loads until you are verified.

Pending

Your uploaded documents are in review. You can expect an update within 24 hours.

Needs attention

Your uploaded documents were unable to be verified. Please retry by replying to the email sent to your TruckSmarter email with legitimate and legible documentation (Certificate of Authority, W-9, and Proof of Insurance). Alternatively, you can verify by connecting a broker account.

Rejected

TruckSmarter was unable to verify your uploaded documents. If you believe this is an error, please contact TruckSmarter Support from within the TruckSmarter app.

Verified

Congrats, your uploaded documents have been successfully verified! You can begin searching, bidding, and booking for all loads on the TruckSmarter Load Board!

After verification — refreshing the app

Just got verified or had your account updated? You need to fully close and reopen the app to see the change.

To see your verified status reflected in the TruckSmarter app, please fully close and reopen the app:

  • iOS: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to see your open apps, then swipe TruckSmarter upward to close it. Reopen from your home screen.

  • Android: Tap the Recent Apps button and swipe TruckSmarter away. Reopen from your app drawer.

Once restarted, your verified status will appear and you'll have full access to view, bid, and book loads. If anything still looks off after restarting, please contact TruckSmarter Support from within the app.
