Dispatch Tracking Assistant is your personal assistant for handling tracking calls. It shares clear, reliable updates on load progress without compromising your privacy, keeps you focused on driving instead of checking in, and helps maintain strong broker relationships.

Follow these simple steps to start using Tracking Assistant.

Note: This feature is only available for Dispatch users. You can sign up for Dispatch here.

How to set it up

Step 1: Navigate to the Tracking tab

Tap the Tracking tab, then select Try it for free to start onboarding.

Step 2: Connect your ELD

Connecting your ELD helps us provide accurate, reliable updates when brokers call. We never share your full location data and always put your privacy first.

Step 3: Receive your tracking phone number

You’ll receive a dedicated tracking phone number. Share this number with brokers when you book a load so they can call us instead of you.

Step 4: Set up easy trip creation

Let us know when you have a trip you want us to take tracking calls for. There are two options on how to do so easily:

  • Connect your Gmail to automatically sync rate confirmations.

  • Forward rate confirmation emails to [email protected]

How it works

Step 1: Give brokers your tracking phone number

Whenever you book a load, give the broker your tracking phone number so tracking calls come to us—not you.

If you ever forget your number, you can find it at the top of the Tracking tab.

Tip: Save your tracking number in your contacts for easy access.

Step 2: Tap to confirm arrival at trip stops

When you arrive at a trip stop, we’ll send you a text reminder to confirm arrival in-app. This helps us give brokers accurate, up-to-date information when they call.

Note: This will not work if you are far away from the stop.

Step 3: TruckSmarter takes care of the rest

When brokers call for updates, we handle those calls for you. You can see exactly what was shared with brokers on the Trip page.

If we’re ever unable to answer a call, it will be transferred to you. The incoming call will appear as your assigned tracking number.

FAQ

How do I see what calls were handled?

On each Trip page, scroll to Call History at the bottom. Tap in to see a log of all handled calls, summaries of what was discussed, and additional details.

What if I don’t want a particular trip tracked?

You can cancel trip tracking at any time. Any future tracking calls for that trip will be redirected back to you.
